Late Milton Friedman Puts Phil Donahue in His Place
Every time I watch this 2:30 clip out of the original hour long segment I tend to think of its pertinence with what many seem to be against in terms of principle with this occupy wall street mishigas. The impression being that individuals pursuing their own self interests in this life is the wrong way to go fills my head.
In reality think of the positive ripple effects this has had on our overall standard of living catalyzed by the industrial revolution. Perhaps some though I like to try and think that not all of them mind you really are taking what they have for granted while failing to look at the big picture. Of course there are a few cons to this system, but it’s one we’ve known since the inception of our country and so why try to transition into something such unfamiliar and different therefore potentially inviting a whole slew of problems of which hasn’t ever had much precedent for obvious reasons. Friedman explores a lot of good points subsequently turning Donahue into the proverbial deer in headlights. He should just go ahead & wear that face more often. Suits him well.
